Ponditat For Humanity

Danville, Illinois

With the water feature filled up on Friday night, Saturday was spent tweaking the feature, planting plants and cleaning up the grounds.  Compared to last year's Saturday, this was a piece of cake.  The temperatures this week were very kind to us.

Larry Moore of Kentucky tweaks the rocks around one of the two train trestle bridge that will cross the stream for Tony's train set.

Trestle bridge is moved up stream to be tweaked.  Tony's second bridge will arrive on Monday.

Steve Childers couldn't believe his eyes at the American Legion Post on Thursday night as he recognized the IPPCA group that was enjoying Tacos.  Steve and his wife Cheryl stop by to see the project.  Steve is the Editor of Koi USA and presented Tony and Linda with a free one-year subscription to Koi USA.  Thank you Steve and staff at KOI USA.

Gary Sackett was presented with a check by IPPCA's Chairman of the Board, Dave Jones, and President Rocke' Huntington.  Larry Moore looks on.  Dave, Rocke' and Larry are returning "TOP GUNS" from last year's Ponditat For Humanity in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

A big "Thank You" to Big R rental for the use of the skid steer and the track hoe.

Everyone jumped in to plant the aquatic plants that were donated by Waterscape Designs of Wisconsin.  Other plants were removed from the old pond and from around the construction area prior to everyone coming in on Wednesday.

The miniature water wheel donated by Black Mountain Timberworks of Jefferson, Georgia is installed by the pros.

This year with the temps so much cooler than last year we only caught one guy taking a cat nap.

Gary and Cathy take time out from the clean up to pose for the camera.

Thirty people enjoyed a rib eye steak dinner Saturday evening.

Once the clean-up was complete, plants were planted.  We all enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of networking.

Linda thanks the IPPCA and all the volunteers from a dream come true.

The day was a little long for two of our young contractors.
