Day 1 of Ponditat For Humanity was extremely warm. However the guys worked hard and accomplished more then expected. First thing to do was hand out the hard hats.
The next order of business was making the pond larger. We were limited by the trees on one side and the paved walkway on the other. The pond will be wider and deeper than the original one.
Here are just some of the items that were donated by Corporate Members and other manufacturers.
Rocke' was surprised to find out that he not only came to Lexington to build a pond but to cut limbs off a tree to make more room for a bigger waterfall.
The pond is now ready to be formally shaped.
Seven tons of boulders were delivered along with the donated gravel by Tracy Trucking.
Long about 10:30 WTVQ, Channel 36 of Lexington, Kentucky came out for a visit and interview with IPPCA. IPPCA and the Ponditat For Humanity made the noon news today. I hope to get a copy and have it archived here.
As the day wore on, the pond really started to take shape. We were ready for the liner shortly after we were served a wonderful lunch by Ashland Terrace
We had a short afternoon as rain was forecasted for late afternoon showers. Underlayment and liner were laid first thing after lunch.
As we left the pond for the day, some of the rocks were placed.
Here are just a few of our visitors throughout the day.
