Day 2 of Ponditat For Humanity 2009 was another HOT day.  We started out by draining the 8" of water out of the bottom of the pond after the thunderstorms that went though the area the night before.

Then it was back to "Rocking" n rolling.

Work on the waterfall/stream is started by Larry Moore and Freddie Combas.  Dave Jones and Derek Gibson bring in wheel barrows full of fill dirt.

Rocke' Huntington starts loading up bags of gravel to fill in the "cracks" in the pond.

Max Phelps gives a helping hand unloading the gravel.

Larry learns how to put on a "liner sock" on his tamper, then tries putting one on himself.

It is lunch time guys.  Ashland Terrace feed us another fabulous meal.

Dave Jones was asked to talk to the residents on "The Art of Pond Building".  He explained to the ladies the reason behind "Ponditat For Humanity" and why Ashland Terrace was picked for this year's project.

The ladies thank Dave for the lesson by singing him "The Fish" song.

While Dave was in talking with the ladies, the other guys were out in the brutally hot sun working on finishing up the pond.  Larry, Freddie and Derek went to get another ton or so of rock that was donated by Jeff Duggins of H2O Designs, Inc., in Lancaster, Kentucky.  Thank you Jeff.

The original pond was in Loving Memory of Mildred Greene Lawrence.

Visitors continued to come by to take a look at the progress of the pond.  You could tell by the constant stream of ladies that this pond really means allot to them and they can't wait until it is done.

Dave, AJ and Mike continue work on the backside of the waterfall with the large rocks that were left on site.

Max and Rock' continue finishing up the main pond area.

Work resumes on the main waterfall area once the additional rocks arrive.

Freddie tries out the "DOW" Great Stuff Pond and Stone Waterfall Foam.

Tonight's meal was provided by Texas Roadhouse, BBQ Chicken, beans, rice and those delicious buns.

After supper it was backed to work doing the final rinse of the pond.

Dave and Freddie just left at 11:45 p.m. to go shut the water off, hopefully the pond is now full and the final touches will be put on tomorrow morning.
